a) formal and functional items in context and help learners practice them until they master the L2 system.
b) grammatical structures and vocabulary items one at a time and help learners practice them until they internalize the L2 system.
c) meaningful problem-posing or problem-solving activities to create conditions in which learners engage in L2 communication.
d) systemic views of the target language in discursive contexts that reveal the interlocutors’ intentions to comprehend the use of the L2
